Appointment Guidelines

DMC Skin Clinic (formerly SKINLIFE) is by appointment only. To ensure optimal preparation for the highest standard of patient care and treatment experience, we do not accommodate any walk-in appointments. Appointments can be made by phone, email, and other selective channels of communication. As we require personal information, we highly recommend calling during office hours.

DMC Skin Clinic is located between Lonsdale and St. Georges Avenue on the east side of 13th St. We are on the second floor of Centreview, directly across the street from Northmount Pharmacy. Our entrance is the large glass doors next to Liberty Wine. Our floor can be accessed either from the lobby or parking elevators by pressing “2” on the elevator floor selection panel. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you experience difficulty locating our facility.

Parking

Pay parking is available underground. Parking meters are located to the west of the elevators, by the door entrance.  Parking can also be paid using the HangTag mobile app (Centreview).

First Time Visits

For accuracy and to manage our privacy compliance, we request valid photo identification (ex. Canadian and American driver’s licenses, BC Services Card, and local and foreign passports) for patient name verification. Please make sure to bring this with you on your first visit. In addition, we also ask for personal health information from each patient wanting cosmetic medical services at our clinic. This personal health information may include your name, date of birth, and medical history, etc.

Late Arrivals

Although we try to accommodate all our patients to the best of our ability, out of respect for other patients’ and doctors’ time, we reserve the right to reschedule any late arrivals as appropriate. Please note that this includes rescheduling of the entire appointment, in which case a penalty will incur in compensation for the reserved time.

Cancellation Policy

Depending on the type and duration of the appointment, we require 24-48 hours’ notice for cancellation or rescheduling of any appointments. Please notify us by phone during office hours, or via email, as soon as possible. Otherwise, any late cancellation and rescheduling notices will result in charges that automatically incur.

Missed Appointments

Appointment confirmations are sent out a week prior to the scheduled appointment dates with the cancellation policy outlined. Any no-shows without prior notice will result in a penalty.

Confidentiality

In order to provide the highest level of individual patient care and treatment quality, only scheduled patients are allowed in treatment rooms, unless DMC deems it necessary for a third party (primary caretaker or legal guardian) to be present. We are professionally and legally bound to protect the confidentiality of patient information provided. Any and all medical and administrative information regarding patients will not be discussed under any circumstances unless we receive written authorization for information release or required by the law.

Age Restriction

Any patients under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by a guardian during both the consultation(s) and signing of consent forms to ensure a full understanding of the desired treatment. The minor patient’s legal representative will be the one who is guided through any necessary documentation(s) upon arrival to the clinic.

Young Children

All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Individuals other than scheduled patients are not allowed in certain restricted areas of the facility and within treatment rooms in order to ensure quality patient care and treatment. Because safety is of the utmost importance at our clinic, we request that patients make separate accommodations for the care of their young children (under the age of 16) during the time of their scheduled appointments. Our staff are not equipped with the necessary means to watch over any unattended children.

Pets & Smoking

To respect the health of all patients and staff in the clinic, smoking in our facility and/or 7.5m from the building is strictly prohibited. We also do not permit pets anywhere inside the clinic due to possible allergies and/or disruption, unless they are medically required such as certified guide dogs.

Electronic Devices

In order to ensure the quality of treatment and care, we encourage patients to refrain from using all electronic devices, including cell phones, computers, and tablets, as they may interfere with certain medical devices. In addition, we ask that phones are turned off or kept silent inside the clinic in order to preserve a non-disruptive environment.

Payment Policy

Please note that DMC Skin Clinic reserves the right to modify the pricing of services and/or products at its sole discretion. We accept Debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, WeChat Pay, AliPay, and cash. All payments issued are non-refundable. However, deposit fees can be retained as a credit if the scheduled appointment is cancelled and/or rescheduled in a timely manner (please refer to the Cancellation Policy). Any unclaimed balance will remain as non-expiring credit on your file at the clinic.

Tax Exemption

Please note that the GST tax exemption does not apply to the consultations, procedures, and treatments done at our clinic, as the services we offer are cosmetic in nature.

Private Insurance

We do not contract with any insurance carriers. If need be, we will gladly provide you with an official statement of service(s) regarding your procedural treatment(s), which you may submit to your insurance carrier.
