Injectable fillers, such as Restylane®, Emervel®, Teosyal®, Belotero®, and Juvederm®, are made of a soft tissue replacement material that is naturally occurring in the body and can be injected into various layers of the body such as the skin, fat and superior to the bone. DMC Skin Clinic uses 100% hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers that are biologically-made, and therefore harmlessly used by the body and broken down into complete disappearance over time, for non-surgical facial shaping and augmentation. Unlike neuromodulators and other filler products, HA filler is not liquid, but has the consistency of a gel with well-characterized viscosity, elasticity, and cohesivity, making it suitable for augmentation and restoration of various body areas. Because the HA filler is made of 100% HA, results are easily adjustable and even reversible.

DMC Skin Clinic’s innovative use of high definition ultrasound imaging, which allows for visualization and detection of facial soft tissues and structures invisible to the plain eye, is implemented for enhanced accuracy and safety of filler injections. While ultrasound has been used as a diagnostic tool for many years, the benefits of ultrasound visualization have not yet seen their days of common proliferation in the field of cosmetic medicine. Clinical studies report that the accuracy of blind injections (injections performed without image guidance) in some cases can be as low as 30%-40%. The use of ultrasound allows clear visualization of important anatomical structures in relation to needle and cannula in real-time. The results of filler injections are immediate and can last between 6-18 months, depending on the product(s), area(s) of injection, and patient metabolism to HA. Any downtime includes possible bruising and/or swelling, the degrees to which vary from patient to patient.
