NON-SURGICAL LIFTING & TIGHTENING

WHAT IS ULTHERAPY®?

The non-invasive Ultherapy® procedure is the only FDA and Health Canada licensed medical procedure to lift skin on the neck, on the eyebrow and under the chin as well as to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the neck and décolletage. Ultherapy® is a non-surgical procedure for the face, neck and chest that utilizes focused ultrasound energy to trigger the body’s natural collagen production process. Ultherapy® harnesses the power of ultrasound to deliver its collagen-boosting effect by utilizing the safe, time-tested energy of ultrasound to stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin – including those typically addressed in a surgical facelift – without disturbing the surface of the skin. Unlike lasers, radiofrequency, surgery and other technologies, non-surgical Ultherapy bypasses the surface of the skin to deliver the right amount of ultrasound energy at the right depths and the right temperature – without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. This energy initiates the body’s natural response to stimulate the growth of fresh, new collagen and strengthen weak collagen.

RESULTS & BENEFITS

Some patients see an initial effect right after their treatment, but the real results appear gradually over 2–6 months as new collagen builds, gradually lifting and tightening skin on the face and neck and smoothing skin on the chest. Individual results may vary. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How many treatment sessions do I need?
Most patients generally require a minimum of 3-5 sessions, depending on the desired goals. The majority of patients only need one treatment; however, some may benefit from more than one treatment, depending on how much skin laxity they have and their body’s own biological response to the ultrasound and the collagen-building process. Most patients may repeat the Ultherapy treatment once a year to maintain long-term treatment benefits.
  • What is the treatment interval?
Although the recommended interval varies depending on the condition(s) that the treatment is intended to treat as well as each patient’s skin condition, on average, the ideal treatment interval between each treatment is 4-6 weeks. While following the physician’s recommended treatment interval is beneficial for an earlier onset of visible treatment outcomes, a longer interval between treatment sessions does not reduce potential treatment efficacy itself.
  • Is Ultherapy® painful?
Topical anesthetic cream application and local anesthetic injections are offered to minimize discomfort during treatment. DMC Skin Clinic also offers the use of analgesic laughing gas for patients who desire additional relief.
  • Is there any downtime following Ultherapy®?
Redness, localized bruising, mild swelling and small scabbing typically resolve in 4-7 days. Cosmetic concealer can be applied 24 hours after each treatment session. Most patients are able to resume regular daily routine.
